Our Story......

Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson originated in Canada back in 1990. The Canadian Store is located in “Gasoline Alley” which is an area just south of Red Deer, Alberta. Since the Canadian riding season is such a short season, owner Grant Price started organizing trips for his Canadian customers to travel and ride to warmer climates through the long Cold winters. In 2006 the trip was to Australia.

On February 15, 2006, Grant, wife Cindy and 33 Canadians started a journey around Australia for 1 month, the trip started in Geelong and went to Adelaide, Mildura, Wagga Wagga, north of Sydney, up along the coast to Hervey Bay(hit a small cyclone), then back down the coast line to Geelong. The trip was the most amazing trip we had done and we decided it was time to start planning to set up shop in Australia.

Over the next 4 years, many road blocks got in the way, but we were determined to make Australia our home we plugged on and on October 20, 2010 we landed in Australia with all approvals and ready to start looking for the Dealership location.

With our Prime Marketing Area being South of the River in Brisbane, Logan City, Redland City and Ipswich City and our desire to be on a Major Motorway – we researched the area’s and chose Springwood on the Pacific Highway was central and had the great visibility we were looking for……….On April 1, 2011 we took possession of 3445 Pacific Highway, Springwood and started Construction! Our fantastic Australian Contractors got the building completely renovated on time and on budget! June 16, 2011 we opened the doors!

Our first week of business was solid customers, coming from all over to see the new Dealership – we were far from ready, but we told everyone the truth, that we were all still in training and we would get better! The soft opening was all about that – training and getting to know our new customers. Since then I must say, we truly do have the best staff around! They understood that the most important thing to us was customer service and telling our customers the absolute truth! Every person that walks through our doors becomes part of our family and is to be treated with the utmost respect this is what we trained them to do and since day one they have all gone above and beyond!

On July 10, 2011 on the 6 month Anniversary of the Floods that hit Queensland so badly, we had our very first Charity Ride; The Ride for Flood Relief for Ipswich. Although it was one of the coldest days we had all winter, people in our community stepped up and we had over 400 riders that rode from Limestone Park in Ipswich, 62km down 4 major motorways to the Dealership! The Logan and Ipswich Police Departments stepped up massively and got us all to the Dealership in a 4km train of Bikes by blocking all the roads and making it a huge success. We raised $19,500 for Mayor Paul Pisasale’s flood relief fund! This was the first of many Charity Events we will be hosting – Every Saturday we do Sausage Sizzles at the Dealership to raise money for local Charities. We buy all of the food and the Charity works the BBQ, and we donate all the funds raised to the Charity. September 2^nd and 3^rd we had our big Grand Opening – we were finally ready! On the Friday VIP Night we had a chain cutting ceremony with Mayor Pam Parker of Logan City helping us cut the Chain to declare the Dealership open. She did an amazing job and an great speech welcoming us to the community. Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale was here for a Cheque handover ceremony for the Flood Relief ride, he was fantastic and very funny….. Saturday was our open day and what a fantastic day that was with Fashion Shows, Our Burn Out Pitt going, Matt and Sam the Crossroads Blues Boy’s Entertaining us, Jay Goldman(Goldie) hosting the event, we even had the top guys from Harley Australia working the BBQ! It was the perfect day!

Our Next big Event was ROCKTOBER on October 29, 2011. Gasoline Alley along with River 94.9 and RT Edwards gave away a Sportster Super Low through a promotion with River 94.9. Congrats to Dave from Jimboomba.
